Can't burn CDs
« on: March 09, 2002, 02:47:05 pm »

I keep getting a bug when I try to burn a new CD from a playlist - the program crashes.

I'm a new user, just downloaded version 7.2.280.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Scott Alexander

try MJ version 8 beta build 8.224 also

install ASPI

http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.html?cat=%2fProduct%2fASPI-4.70&prodkey=ASPI-4.70#Microsoft%20Windows%202000

download this, unzip to a folder, then run ASPIINST.EXE inside the folder, then you must reboot, then run ASPICHK.EXE in that folder to make sure it was installed correctly.

Thanks but it didn't work - I tried doing what you suggested and the ASPI EXE file wouldn't run.

Scottxyz and Derek:

Please print the "system info" in MJ version 8 (on the Help menu) and paste it here.
Also, if you email me I can send you a test program that may help troubleshoot.

Thanks,

I am having the exact same problem.

System Info:
Performance Test:

MMX Support: YES

Memory Info:

OS Info:
Type: Microsoft Windows XPVersion: 5.1  (Build 2600)

Misc Info:
Internet Explorer 6.0.2600.0000

Windows XP
MJ 7.2.280

It worked fine under Windows ME.
I have installed the ASPI, and ASPICHK recognizes my CD Burner (JustLink 24x10x40).

What is happening?

When I go to Settings -> Options -> CD Writer Settings, Windows XP gives the following error message:

Media Jukebox has encountered a problem and needs to
close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Error signature:
 Appname: media jukebox.exe AppVer: 7.2.280.0 ModName: decoder.ocx
 ModVer: 1.0.24.0           Offset: 0000383e

Just thought you may need this for troubleshooting.

Sparhawk-

Do a search for the wnaspint.dll file on your system and rename or remove it. This DLL is not compatible with Media Jukebox. Then, if you haven't already, install Adaptec's aspi using the link KingSparta provided above.

I currently have MJ version 7.2. I would like to try out the version 8 beta to see if the problem burning CDs goes away. How can I download version 8 beta?

Thanks.
