I have multiple issues and concerns, and I believe in "simple", so I'll use separate posts for each one in turn.

How do I get MC to recognize and play 192/24 "caf" format audio files? My LP's were digitized using an RME "Fireface UC" ADC and ChannlD's "Pure Vinyl" program on a MAC Mini. The "Pure Vinyl" program also "renders" the files to iTunes (used as the PureVinyl GUI), as M4a/192; MC can Import these, the Artwork and Track List show up, but clicking "Play" just causes the files to "buffer" over and over with no audio. The Archive files are .caf at 192/24, and are not altered. I don't want to play these as M4a or any other "compressed" way. Audio files are just "ones" and "zeros", seems to me they should all play.

MC doesn't currently support CAF files.

I'd like to change this someday, since it's just a simple PCM format like WAV or AIFF.

FFmpeg and as a consequence LAV should support .caf, although I have never had one to confirm.

Does anyone know where I can get a sample track of CAF file that contains Linear PCM audio?

I did a search on the web but nothing came up.  A free program called "Switch Sound File Converter" allows me to convert to CAF, but the data inside seems to be always ALAC.
