Is ever there any chance of this ever coming back? I only use panes rather than categories to view my music, for the flexibility in the ways you can view/sort your albums, the one thing that bugs me is I can't view or select a single track.
Changing the list style to details doesn't suffice as you loose the power of sorting as the group by tag or expression takes over and the sorting panes you made sort the tracks within the groups instead.
Lasse, I believe that what you are asking for was shortly possible in one of the early MC13 beta builds.

It was possible to first filter the displayed albums with panes, then select an album thumbnail. The file list showed only the files that were included in the selection:

These options would have been very useful for me. Unfortunately the "bug" was fixed in the next build and the feature disappeared.
