I still occasionally get a segfault when going from play to stopped and back again.
The menus are a little too transparent now.  Makes them hard to see.

Yeah, I can confirm the menu transparency 'issue', but I believe that's just part of the work-in-progress. I still see the little glitching white box on the desktop top left by the Unity dash in Ubuntu 13.10 (causes glitches in MC there too) and you can't pin the running icon to the Unity dash. Other than that, love the progress! Keep up the good work guys!

Operating system: SUSE 12.3 x64


What doesn't work:

1. The BROWS-buttons won't start the browser
2. the char-set does not allow to enter symbols like "]" or "\" etc at intern. keyboards. The backslash is important when importing windows-libraries and you try to adapt the data passes to unix 
3. none of the skins but NOIRE show the play-buttons.
4. not possible to access the burning device
5. not to many windows have titles
6. File locations can't be edited

Also, I can confirm the white glitch when a window pops up. Sometimes the background stays white and you see white char on white background. Hard to read!

But the program is improving step by step!

wow! Thanks. MC19 looks much nicer now, especially album covers. However, the background of menus is now transparent instead of white.
Anyway, keep up the good job. The money I spent on the early bird license seems to have been a great investment

I have to admit that this is the first Linux build I've tried. I know there is a lot of work to be done but I will throw some things out there that I see right away that aren't drawing issues:

Rating field does not display correctly
Can't enter the font settings to change the font
System volume control does not work (internal is fine)
Looking up a library server by access key does not work (when I point it at my hostname, it's OK)
I frequently cannot enter the options menu Menu was opening but it was lost off screen for some reason
Gapless playback kills playback after the current song ends

I never had 70-1 installed. I went from 70 to 72.

I removed all traces of all versions and installed 72 but had the same issue. Also DLNA didn't work with 72.

Now I'm back on 70 and all is well.

Won't install. Something wrong with dependencies on Mint 15. In spite of xfonts-75 being installed,

sudo apt-get install xfonts-75dpi:all

jefierro: install a package manager like synaptic, search for xfonts-75dpi and install it from there. Then try to reinstall MC again. You should be good to go.

Thanks for the help guys, xfonts 75 and 100dpi are installed on the system, as stated above, I have a working MC 72 copy on a x64 13.1 ubuntu box, just trying to set up a test DNLA rig using an old laptop. i'll try to manually install, but i can't seem to find the extra time.
I'm so glad I can finally use MC on my favourite OS. I can't wait to see it on a stable release soon.

72 DLNA works fine here.
The about box says 19.0.72.

About box says v72. Good.

DLNA renderer doesn't appear in other instances of MC running on Windows unless local library on Linux has at least one track.

Here is a weird message I received just running apt-get upgrade. MC is already installed and working but I still receive this message.

I can confirm with above problems, Kubuntu 13.10 and I am also getting an "Error: Cannot satisfy dependencies".

When I attempt to install the fonts x-75 and x-100 via apt-get with the below command:

Great news, everyone! Just run the below command without the :i386 and the dependency will be satisfied.

Debian wheezy is multiarch. If you attempt to install on a distro that isn't multiarch you will have trouble (you'll also likely have system library troubles).

The xfonts-75dpi:all dependency means that there shouldn't be a architecture based dependency for the  fonts (they are not architecture dependent).

The default for the rest of the package requirements is determined by the architecture which is set to i386.

This was tested on ubuntu 13.10 x64 and debian wheezy i386.

This isn't documented in the deb packaging instructions very well and the reason why it only shows up with the fonts is that they are the only non-architecture dependency in the deb.
