We found a menu bug that is probably causing all the issues in this thread (with the possible exception of rilke1999 ?).  Porting to Linux lead to some menu system changes which lead to a memory allocation problem on Mac.  Please try the new build coming a little later today.  Sorry for the trouble.

rilke1999: please try the next build and let us know if it's working better for you
