Importing XML files from iTunes not working in MC19 Mac

(1/2) > >>

Maeghaus:
I am rebuilding my MC library from iTunes, and have used the XML format for exporting to MC. A slight modification pointing MC to the files in the XML has worked in MC 18 Mac very well. I retain my metadata of Number Plays, Comments, etc. this way. However, I cannot do the same with MC 19 Mac. It does not recognize any files when importing playlists.

I have copies of the original and modified XML files and can add them to a Dropbox if needed.

Currently, I am doing a workaround by building a new database in MC 18 Mac and then plan for MC 19 Mac to move the files over. I would still like the XML feature to work, though, in MC 19 Mac.

I used the Automator script mentioned in one post that converts M3U files to MC compatibility, but this method does not retain my iTunes metadata of Number Plays, etc.

Thanks.   -- Tom

JohnT:
Sure, please add the XML files to Dropbox and we'll look at them.

Maeghaus:
Here is my link to the files:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/33a24lc5k5qv27v/Vt0s_7o7dp

Note the change in "Essential 1976b" where /file:localhost is taken out (the first instance is on line 12). Redirecting the file location allows MC 18 Mac to import iTunes XML files successfully. However, the same XML file will not import into MC 19 Mac.

System info: MC 19 Mac v.76, Lion OS X 10.7.5, MC 18 Mac v.219.

Importing XML files from iTunes is still not working in MC 19 Mac as of version 88. Does anyone have a solution?

Maeghaus:
Version 100 of MC 19 Mac almost seemed to work with importing XML files from iTunes, but ultimately does not succeed. MC 19 isn't recognizing something in the file structure -- I have no idea what.

Please let me know if I need to submit data to a specific email address or if I just need to supply the Dropbox URL here. I am staying on MC 18 Mac until I can get this problem resolved.
