Update of 1 file ?

Would it be possible to be able to update just 1 file i.s.o. the whole library ?

e.g. when I edit a file with Media Editor (make it shorter for example), that the file's total time is also updated
in MJ without having to remove it from the library and then re-add it (otherwise I lose the assignments of playlists for that file)

I have many times mentioned that having to update the whole library is a hassle.
To perform "Update Library" functions on a selection of files would be a boon.
