before i try to implement my own solution for this, just wanted to know whether reporting of playing now &  metadata to OS level is planned for a future release. you are already doing this selectively by way of lockscreen widget & AVRCP , but i cannot use this metadata for designing custom widgets or notifications etc without hijacking the intents or generating one as a result of ^ those

if not,  perhaps if you could share quick thoughts on barriers to achieving this.  thanks!
