My first day with MJ and My computer locks up after about 1 minute of playing a factory recorded CD.

Does it act differently if you uncheck the "digital playback" option in devices settings?

no, I tried that right away. Playing CD's is a basic task for a program of this type, although I'm interested in MJ for some of it's other features. Do you know of any drawbacks to using the analog-in to digital recording aspects of this program? And, I still have the initial problem.

Do you have any visualizations/dsp/plugins running while playing a CD?

I've been three days wrestling this immoveble obstacle. Have you all abandoned me? I really would like to give this program a try. I most definately will become exhausted soon, trying to fix this myself. How about support from the authors?

I don't know how to help with your specific problem, but try to keep in mind that if your using v8.0.xxx that its still beta. If you choose to give up right now rather than face the hassles with the beta version, please keep in mind that the previous versions (e.g. 7.2) have been excellent and very stable, so try back in a little while. I've tried many jukebox programs and I think this one's far and away the best. But they're definitely having some CD-related problems right now in the recent beta versions.

Good luck
Michael
