How do I disable Apple Remote support to solve program conflicts?

Hi I use XBMC for my videos seeing as JRiver does not yet support them on Mac side yet and I use a harmony remote to control it.This worked fine until Media Center's Apple Remote support started conflicting with it. This happens because both are trying to use it in exclusive mode. Is there a way to disable JRiver's Apple Remote support?

That's a good idea.  We're going to add a "disable IR support" option in Tools / Options / General / Advanced / Media Key Mode.

Ok the option is there now it just is not working. When I "disable" media key mode it still works.
