iTunes immigrant

Like many, I came to MC19 from the iTunes world and I adopted a certain convention for the Genre tag using forward slashes, e.g. Jazz/Funk, Jazz/Rock etc. But whenever I tag files in that way (typically I do that in DBpoweramp) and then bring the into MC, it gets changed to Jazz\Funk. i.e. the forward slash is converted to a back slash.

Also, I always tag Disc as 1/1 and 1/2 etc. And this just gets ignored.

Is there anything I can do to avoid these "conversions". And generally, is there an article abt iTunes idiosyncrasies you can point me to?

I'd like to maintain compatibility with iTunes as I occasionally share music files with friends who have an iTunes setup.

I can't comment on the genre tags, but this has bothered me every since I switched to Media Center.

Media Center may not have any problems with albums simply being "1, 2, 3" but other applications may only see them as the same album when they're "1/3, 2/3, 3/3"
