Standard View vs Other Views
« on: December 13, 2013, 07:44:33 am »

I have a standard view which displays all albums where the genre is Christmas. It works fine and displays the album thumbnails as expected. I added this view to Theater View and it also works as expected. The problem I have is when I add the view to Gizmo/Web Gizmo- i also get a view labelled Unassigned which seems to contain all other files in my library.

Is there something else that needs to be added to the Gizmo views to ensure the filtered view is as expected. Also, with the standard view when you set the rules the option exists to inherit parent rules...does this apply to Gizmo views or must the parent be created on each child level?

Thanks

Ian

Underneath Show Categories In This Order should be an Options drop down menu.  Make sure Display 'All' as a choice is unchecked.

I will let someone who knows better answer the second question.

Make sure you set specific Set rules for file display for each presentation type as necessary (Standard View, Theater View, Gizmo/WebGizmo, DLNA).

This thread explains what is going on (ignore the datatype=[list] stuff):
