Netflix and browser issue
« on: December 10, 2013, 11:22:26 am »

Update - I think it's a browser issue: http://sdrv.ms/JdrjD6 (pic of problem)

First I want to say that I've been installing and uninstalling all kinds of WMC alternatives before I bumped into JRiver Media Center. Not only is this superior to WMC, it does everything better than any other program I've used. It's certainly worth the money. I'm currently still under trial for about 25 more days, so then I will drop the cash, and without a bit of regret. Great job guys.

Now to the only minor problem I have, Videos, home movies, and Hulu all open up in full screen mode, no problems. The moment I do netflix it actually opens up in the top 1/2 of the TV screen. I have to make the player smaller and than maximize it for the problem to go away. Can you please advise what is wrong? It plays outside of jriver with no problems and I have used both IE and Chromium as engines. Problems still exists.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Are you watching Netflix from Theater View or Standard View?  Does double clicking on the Netflix video make it go full screen?

I'm in theater view. I click on the "restore down" button, and then the maximize button and it goes full screen.

Can you take a screenshot of what you see before you do the "fixing" and post it?

I noticed that I didn't experience the same problem in Windows 7. Only 8.1

The developers are using Windows 8.1, and so am I, and I'm not seeing similar behavior.  It isn't so simple as you're thinking.  Something is "special" about your install.

I'll take a look later and see if I can help, though I'm just a user, so I'm not sure what I'll be able to do.

Thanks. I installed JRiver in Windows 8 and it didn't exhibit that problem. Maybe I'll re-install my video drivers.
