new to hi-res

(1/1)

jaklaz:
i have some very basic questions, as i am about to download  jriver.  i have a mac-mini connected to my system, and meridian G61R controller and HD621 audio processor. so if i download hi-res files into jriver on the mac, will they play as hi-res through this equipment, and will there be any limitations as to the type of hi-res file that the equipment will be able to fully handle? thanks.

JohnT:
I'm not familiar with the audio equipment you have, but Media Center is free to download and use for 30 days so I would recommend trying it out.  Try using a USB connection.

Amazing - I have the same "front end".  So far I'm finding MC easy to use on a Mac Mini (although at times I wish I had purchased a small Windows computer to get all the MC functionality).  To the best of my knowledge our front ends take in HiRes and decode it properly - note that I'm pushing the stream to an Oppo BDP-105 and controlling the streams using JRemote on my iPad Mini.

If it's an Intel Mac, you can install Windows on it.
