Harry the Hipster -- dibeng.dll crashes
« on: February 27, 2002, 06:09:44 am »

HTH,
This is a Microsoft dll that we don't distribute.  It may be buggy in different versions.  It gets used by visualizations when they do NOT use DirectX.

Try disabling visualizations.  Also try switching them to DirectX (right click on vis screen, go to visualization studio, do tools options and change draw method.

We can also try emailing you a dll.  Let me know.

JimH:

Thnx. Was about to revert to a prior build. Will try it when I get a minute - a little hectic here at the moment.

JimH & Harry,

I have the same problem. Tried the suggested fix. Didn't work. Still get the crash.

What version of MJ and OS?

Did you try disabling visualizations?

JimH:

Still getting the DIBENG.DLL crashes, even after disabling visualizations and selecting DirectX in tools. Can you email me the replacement .dll and point to where it should be installed?

This was new begiining around 8.0.210 - is it possible something in MJ is surfacing this issue? Am now experiencing it in 2 very different environments.

Thanks....HTH

JimH,

The new version - 215- seems to have cured the problem for me. I've played through the playlist that I was having problems with before twice with no problems.

Thanks for the help.

Are people still getting this with 215?

If so, what video card do you have, and do you have the latest driver for sure?

Thanks.

Running build 217 here, and still get the crash with visualizations off. My vidcard is a VooDoo 3500, and I use a variety of 3rd party drivers, which have caused me exactly zero issues with any other software.
