ive now got all my keywords back over to genres, and i'd like to do a full library Get movie & TV info to fill in all of the imdb keywords for my videos.

When i tried on one of my files (i made a multiple genre entry of Action; Testing) and then ran Get Movie & TV info and it overwrote my genres.
Anyway around this?

Create a temporary library field (genre.temp) and copy you current data over, do your get movie info and then move the genre.temp field to genre.
Not the answer you were looking for I am sure but it is a never fail work around when wanting to not have a field overwritten.

Before i dive...i could of sworn there was an option somewhere that stated... do not overwrite tags? or fill tags that are empty only?  i dunno why but something in my memory is telling me so.
am i sadly mistaken?

There is an auto-import rule which will write tags to files during import (this is disabled by default) but I don't think there is anything to prevent "Get Movie & TV Info" from filling out your Genre tags.
 
I would like to see the "Get Movie & TV Info" settings expanded, as I really don't like that it fills in the Keyword field.

When you select more than one item, the Get Movie & TV Info Diag has an option "Allow overwrite of existing values" but it is all or nothing.

Thats what i was looking for "Allow overwrite of existing values"
so in theory.. if i untick this, i can select 20,000 files and do get info, and only keywords will get filled in...correct? (providing all other tags are filled in to my liking)

....might be best to try it on two but I assume it will overwrite all or none, not blank (which is what I think you want).
