MadVR bypass/GPU Settings HD5750
« on: January 06, 2014, 02:32:44 am »

Hi,
I read madVR bypasses the GPU settings. I am not sure if my setup is correct in this way.
At the moment I use an older GPU ATI HD 5750 in my i3 Win7 build. Latest MadVR on JRiver 19 Red Oct HQ.

Do I need to change the settings in ATI driver/settings als well? There are several checkboxes in the video part of the setting dialog which influence performance, I canīt see any bypass by madvr at all. I use exclusive mode.
I tried jinc + ar setting and it seems to work quite well with DVD upscaling. Also the GPU usage is not very high. This canīt be right as a GTX 660 is recommended for jinc. Therefore jinc might not work at all and is somehow changed/overwritten by the GC Driver to provide a smooth playback.
Whatīs wrong here?
Many thanks.
Tim

madVR should automatically be bypassing any GPU driver video settings - it's not an option you have to enable.
Jinc 3+AR scaling can be very demanding, but it depends on the source content.
You might find that you can upscale DVDs to 1080p with it, but not 720p content for example. Or perhaps you have only set it for chroma scaling and not image scaling.
