Upload to USB device
« on: February 27, 2002, 12:21:34 am »

Hi Steve,

I just noticed when using the UPLOAD function to upload songs to my USB device (e.g. 600 files),
in a lot of files I have skips and parts of other songs.

If I use "Move/Copy Disk File ...", all works fine with no skips.

I'm using NEO Jukebox, build 214 and Win XP,

Bennyd,

I could not duplicate your problem here, but I made some modifications that might make a difference and they will be in the next build of MJ. Can you test it out and let me know if you still see this problem? If so, drop me an email at steve@jriver.com and I will make some additional suggestions.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

I formatted my USB device and downloaded the new build, all looks fine now, thanks.

- The "progress bar" problem during upload returned, it resets after a few uploaded files.
- Files that are not imported show as imported on my USB device, until I put them in playing now, then it detects they are not imported.

Bennyd,

- The "progress bar" problem during upload returned, it resets after a few uploaded files.

I retested this on XP and can not duplicate it. My USB Device has only 64MB memory and I downloaded the max that I could.  Were you downloading a large (greater than 64MB) number of files?

- Files that are not imported show as imported on my USB device, until I put them in playing now, then it detects they are not imported.

I can not duplicate this either.  Where are the files that are not imported that appear?

Hi Steve,

I'm uploading always more than 1 GB (takes about 30 minutes)
It's after a while that the progress bar resets again (like 5 minutes)

The files that are not imported are on my USB device. They all have a black icon until I put them in playing now,
when I then go back to my USB device, they have a red icon

Bennyd,

In the next MJ build these two issues are addressed.  I think the Progress reset will be better, but I can't test with a large enough set of files to be sure.

The imported / unimported issue will be resolved in that all files on the portable will always show as black, even if they have been added to "Playing Now". The red unimported is only relevant when viewing imported files in the MJ library (i.e. in "Playing Now")

Thanks,

Steve
