Ripping with Beta 8.0.214
« on: February 26, 2002, 02:57:47 pm »

I downloaded the new Beta hoping my ripping issues would be fixed, but I am still having problems.  Now instead of only a few tracks no working, whenever I try to Rip to MP3 (using the encoder for MJ 8), I get an illegal operation error and MJ shuts down.  Does anyone else have this problem?!  Is there anything I can do to fix it?  I am runnin on:

I think this is a major error in build 8.0.214
Can anyone else confirm? When you click on DEVICES, after detecting stage, cdmanager.dll errors the whole program out?

We need these bugs gone!! I can't remember a build that works right for ripping MPC/MP|PLS| files. 272/280 are both bad. 211 and 214 are bad on v8. I think 206 or 204 was working, but I don't know since it's all a blur now.

I get an instant crash when I try to rip a CD!  Press Rip CD and the Copy CD window pops up.  Press Copy, "initializing..." shows up next to the song for a second, then... "Illegal operation!"
I had to switch back to 8.0.211 so I can at least be able to rip.  I have a feeling that when you fixed the File Naming Rules, something got messed up when MJ is trying to create the directory & file.

I've also had this problem ever since I started using Ver.8 betas.  Thinking about going back to Ver.7 if this problem is not solved soon.

This is terribly odd that everyone gets different points of errors. Please look in the microsoft report popup and transcribe the exact module that errorred the program out. Mine is posted in the "Beta 214 available" group and that is the place to put them. Also include the specs of your machine OS and drivers. You can get this from Media Jukebox. It automatically copies to clipboard for easy posting.

CD operations (ripping, digital playback, track lookup) got broken in build 214 for those running Win95/98/ME. Please get the next build.
My humble apologies.

Sudadon-
If your situation isn't specific to build 214, please give more information on the problem. Paste your system info here (get system info under the Help menu in MJ). Also, any info on how it fails and the text of error messages you get would be helpful.

Thanks,

John T...

Tried burning with 216 and it worked.  The problem must have been solved somewhere along the way.
