I coverted my records to mp3 files but there is a crackling and popping noise in the music. Is there any way to take out that noise from the music with MEDIA JUKEBOX.

Ive tried lots of different ones. But what i find is they also take out all the life from the music. I have now decided the best approach is to live with the snap, crackle and pop.

If they are that badly then Cool Edit 2000 is pretty good. although it may take upto 10 hours to clean 1 album.

Don't know if this will help but I was getting noise from my recordings. Went into windows and turned of the mike gain and after that the recordings I made were perfect. I was recording through the mike to the mixer.

I'm hearing a crackling noise on both my mp3 files AND some cds using digital playback.

I don't rember having this problem before MJ 8, but can't say for sure.

Any suggestions.

BarryD99-

How were the mp3's created? Do you hear the crackling sounds in other players?
As far as CD digital playback, try the next MJ build (something greater than 8.0.214), we slowed down the CD read speed during digital playback and this might help.

BarryD99:

Ran into this with pre-existing mp3 files. Never noticed it in earlier builds. Try reducing the wav volume in windows audio conrol. Seems to help.

HTH,
I would raise, not lower wav.  The sound you're putting out to the amplifier needs to be amplified less.

If you are using Windows 2000 and a Soundblaster Live then the crackling could be caused by the drivers.  Windows 98/ME is no problem.  Try downloading to the latest sound card drivers.

I would gladly pay 10 x the Media Jukebox license fee if it could index .RMJ files correctly.

Make sure you set 'extract digital music' in Device Manager for your CDROM.
