Sorry if this is in the wrong place...

I just got a free guitar (I do not play guitar ha ha) and I'm trying to line in through my asus xonar stx and use JRiver for some effects VST plugins.  However....I can't figure out how to take an input into JRiver, is it possible?  I've only played music/movies, in fact I've never used either microphone or line in on my PC before

To be moderately more clear, I can use a standalone that uses the jriver ASIO driver and I can get sound from the guitar into headphones, but the VST in JRiver itself is unusable

Thanks for any tips or if this is even possible
