Don't use EQ at the same time or another DSP.

Try reinstalling the sound card driver.

Hi

Thanks Jim for the suggestions.

Don't have any other DSP running and only had MJ DSP on.
I reinstalled Drivers and got current drivers from Creative.
I am using ancient soundcard Sound Blaster AWE64. (All I have for now!!!)
Still not able to use DSP as stated in first request.
It did work in V7.2 I am using V8 on a 30 trail. Would that make a difference?
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Media Jukebox and your interact site is outstanding.  Keep up the great work!
I now, I am a Kiss But.....I mean it!!!!!!

It isn't the trial period that is the problem.

Try switching between Wave and DirectSound in MJ/settings/options/playback.

Then try uninstalling/reinstalling MJ.

Does MJ show that DSP is on?

Hi Jim

I tried switching between directsound and wave, did not make any difference. I uninstalled MJ thru add/remove in windows and reinstalled MJ.  Did not improve the problem.

Yes! Their is a little X in the on box.

I discovered when I clicked on the arrow for any of the settings and rapidly double clicked a setting it would change, but was not always succesful with that procedure.(My fingers are not that quick) Are you suppose to double click?
When I click and hold the pointer over a setting it does not change to a blue highlight like most other selections.  Its color is a very light grey.

Sorry to be a pest, but I love DSP!!!!!!!!

What sound card do you have?

We had another report from JollyJim in the bug thread, but I can't duplicate this on WinXP Home.  We'll chase it next week.  Thanks for reporting it.

Jim

Okay!
I have figured out what is causing this, with help of the thread with JollyJim I closed all running applications as JollyJim did...  Would you believe it is my mouse driver program!  It loads in startup.  If I close the program using task manager DSP works. The only problem is I have no control of my center mouse button, which I use.
Now I am not sure if it has something to do with the new keyboard I got. I am using a Logitech I-Touch keyboard with and old Logitech Mouseman 3button mouse. I did not load any drivers for the mouse, which came with the keyboard, since it did not pertain to my mouse, but did for the Logitech keyboard.

Any ideas would be appreciated

Thanks

Was the mouse program also from Logitech?  What is it named?

Yes, it is a Logitech Program.

The program name is Logitech Mouseware 95.

The only thing I can think is that I upgraded to Windows 98SE in July 01. Perhaps the drivers are not compatible with 98 and MJ Ver8??

But, I have not had any problems with other programs.

I looked for updated drivers and they did not list my poor old mouse.
It quess I better feed it to the cat!!!!!!!!!!

If you will send it to me, I will give it to KingSparta as a parting gift for the rats at the pig farm and JRiver will replace it with a new Logitech optical mouse.

email me at jimh @ jriver.com for the address.

And thanks very much for the details on what the problem was.
