CDDBControl Interface
« on: February 22, 2002, 07:01:41 am »

In recent days when I put a CD in the drive and MJ goes to CDDB to get the information I will receive "Couldn't get ICDDBControl interface for CDDBControl" error.  I hope to hear from MJ support and not a round table on this.

Hi Timmis,

What version of MJ are you using?

If not 8.0, maybe check that out, because there have been a lot of CDDB fixes and improvements. (look for the 8.0.xxx thread here on interact)

Thanks.

I am interested in this topic as well.  Can you please tell how to fix on 7.2? "Switching to 8" shouldn't be necesssary as it worked fine a few days ago! I am hoping I don't have to purchase an upgrade to a product I just bought a month ago. Even if upgrade is free I would prefer to upgrade when I am ready. I'd rather see how 8 pans out for awhile.

Other facts that may be relevent: Windows 2000 on a Dell Laptop. I run Easy CD Creator 4 which also accesses CDDB. I installed Limewire recently which f'd up my whole system so I uninstalled it.  Please let me know how to get Media Jukebox working properly again. Much appreciated.

I'd suggest reinstalling version 7.2.

and check the many other threads here on CDDB problems.  Another music program may be causing the problem.

Jack,

if you purchased MJ 7.x you don't have to pay to upgrade to 8.0, it's free!!!
