RIP OFF

I paid the $24.95 and my burned CDs will only play on the PC, I suspect this is because they are still in mp3 format, but I'm not sure. Not everyone is a computer expert and some of us need more help then others and this Interact has not done it for me.
I do know that when I go to "settings" - "options" - "CD writer settings" the last two options are grayed out/ One option being to add two second delay and the second option reads, "decode mp3 files directly to cd".

Since I paid the $24.95 why is anything grayed out?
I sure would appreciate some help and intelligent answers.

And Yes I did use the proper Cds.

par1, Welcome to the wacky world called INTERACT (sic??).  We are here to mostly have fun and help each other.  Sorry for your frustration. Me, I am never frustrated.  Let me try and help you out.

First, the backspace key.  Unfortunately backspace can mean different things depending or where you use it. The browser uses it to go back to your previous web page; so puff your page and your bessage box may disappear.  Some edit programs use the backspace to delete the previous character in a edit box.  BTW, did you try and use the forward page function to go back to the page that disappeared.  That might have worked for you.  These things have a lot to do with how your computer is set up.

As far as your second issuelaying CDs you have burned.  There are at least two different formats for music.  One is called WAV.  The other MP3.  The factory automobile CD player plays WAV, not MP3.  Media Jukebox plays both. So you probably burned a MP3 CD. Thus Media Jukebox could play it, but not your car CD player.  Burn a CD in WAV (also called AUDIO) format.  The Help text, and the FAQs, should make this easy for you.  By the way, some states prohibit listening to MP3 music in your car.  You need a special license, or something like that.

I can understand your frustration with the backspace key.  A case can be made that every computer based operation should be additive.

the reason some things may be grayed out is because your system may be using The generic driver.

So what is the make and model of your cd-r/w drive?

maybe you should give it some time untill you learn how to work Media Jukebox.

there are some good people here who can help you thru you problems.

I thought I used the audio cd setup. I've owned computers since the 1980s begining with a 286 on  up. But most of my use has been in desktop publishing, spread sheets etc. I never burned cds until now.
I know the difference between data and audio and I thought I made the proper choices. I'm fairly sure that cd s I did burn are in mp3 as they will not play on anything other than my pc. I'm usin MAXELL CD-R for audio recording that the label says is good for all players. and why are the two options grayed out?
Anyhow I'd sure like to know how to burn cds to use in my car to listion to on my way to SC to play golf.

if not listed there J river has a Generic burner driver built in so your burner will work, it just might not work with all options.

Hey par1, does the grayed out options appear after have you set up the tracks to burn or without even attempting the burn.  Look at main screen title bar>Setting>Options?CD Writer Settings?

You cannot have 2 second delays on digital (MP3) burnings. Only on audio burns.
In any case the grayed out boxes do not refer to your $24.95 payment.

The CD's that I burn will play on my CD player stereo component, my portable CD player and my daughter's CD player in her car. They will NOT play on MY car CD player. Apparently it's the player.
I went round and round and had multiple headaches with burning but these guys will hang with you until it gets fixed or the reason is discovered. Don't give up.

I thought of that. Imation doesn't work in my truck either. Haven't tried any others. I'm just gonna get an MP3 player to put in there.

He is my two cents worth I have used imatition,fuji,memorex the whole ball of wax. Even used 8x on a 16x burner Which I asked about in another thread that even worked. I don't understand the grayed out part  if youuse rip to CD and normalize it won't do that if you just burn the cd it will be a wav file MJ finalizes the CD on its ownif you us easy CD you have the option to finalize or not if you don't they will not play on any other player.
