Playing Zune Music Pass Files
« on: March 10, 2014, 08:12:20 am »

Here's another Zune related question for y'all. Hopefully it gets a better response than my previous one. Recently in updating to Windows 8.1 I had to do a restore for MC17.  I also had to reinstall the Zune program. There was some question as to whether Zune would work with 8.1, but it installed perfectly.  When I try to play DRM'd files (WMA) in MC it gives me the error message for DRM License Acquisition.  If I first play the file in Zune, then try to play it in MC, it will then play (something about DRM license renewal).  I have never had a problem playing Zune Pass files in MC before.  Playing 27,000 music files one-by-one in Zune to get them to play in MC is not really feasible.  Any suggestions? And, no, I'm not updating to MC19, and I'm not getting rid of Zune either.  And here's the kicker: some of these Zune Pass files will play in MC without having to first play them in Zune-but I haven't been able to figure out why.  WMA files are ticked off in file associations for MC.
