Just to confirm, one can not use the Asus Chromebox with JRiver?

If you can put Windows or Linux on it, I'm sure that you probably could run Media Center on it, but this is running ChromeOS out of the box.

With ChromeOS running you might be able to use it as a WebGizmo client?

While they are a bit more expensive, I would probably choose an Intel NUC rather than one of these if I wanted a small MC client.

It runs a x86 CPU from Intel (a Haswell-generation CPU even, which exactly I couldn't find out quickly), so if you can get a supported OS on it, you can also run MC on it.

You could of course use WebGizmo, since its just a website.

No probs. From the info here:
http://www.omgchrome.com/asus-chromebox-specs-details/

The el cheapo box runs a Intel Celeron 2955U 1.4GHz processor.

For another USD$120, you'd get a unit with an Intel Core i3-4010U 1.7GHz processor.

The cheap box looks like it might be a good candidate for a Linux MC audio setup.
