Support for many DAC + DSP profiles?
« on: March 18, 2014, 04:52:02 am »

Hi,

I use my Mac to play music in three different places: at the office, in my hifi rig and in the home office setup. In every place, there's a different DAC or amp to connect to, each with their own DSP settings (ie which sample rates are supported).

It would be SO nice if there was a way to:
1) Save multiple DAC + DSP settings profiles
2) Detect which DAC is plugged in and pick a profile (or let me select)

It would be a great "fit and finish" feature...

Thanks!
/Adam

I don't have the mac version, so I'm not sure which parts of the windows feature set are in it yet, but JRiver for Windows supports "zones" which can be used to do exactly what you describe.  If the Mac version supports zones, you can configure each one with different DAC/DSP settings etc.  It won't auto-detect the DAC in most cases, but you can select which zone to play to manually.

In windows it's an option under the "player" menu.
