Converting WMA files to MP.3
« on: February 20, 2002, 07:28:16 am »

I have come up with a problem I never had before I have three files that ripped in WMA format from a CD I forgot to change the encoder on the last update and it used WMA. I tried to convert to MP3 but get the error message Media Jukebox could't get a license I have the CD why would I need a license. I think I ripped a few songs in 7.2 that were WMA and I converted them I am using 8.207 now I just don't remember ever having this problem.

Both Windows Media Player and RealJukebox have "personal security" which encrypts the files.  You can turn it off in the players, but it is on by default.

Re-ripping is your best choice.

Thanks JimH
I knew real junk box plus was like that I always turned it off not have it in secure mode but I didn't know win media was like that. I don't use it anyway just that I guess MJ defaults to it on the update.  I will look now before I leap
