media center 19 can't play avi files

Can not play avi files tells me downloading additionals necessary.
MC setup to red october

Sorry, Media Center on Mac does not play video.

If the OP was able to set it up for Red October, then it would seem that he just posted this message in the wrong forum.  I'll move it.

Harry, we will need further details.

* What version are you using?
* Are you using the Windows version (you originally posted this in the Mac part of the Interact forum)?
* What error message do you see when you try?
* Does audio-only playback work properly?
* Is the computer online?

When you play the first video, MC does need to download and configure the necessary Red October filters for video playback.  This happens automatically, and is only required the first time you play a video, but it does mean your machine will need to be online when you play that first video.
