Selecting Multiple Files
« on: February 17, 2002, 04:08:19 am »

I'm bringing this here cause I don't know if it's a bug or what.

Selcting multiple files in the content pane using the mouse only works when clicking on an empty part of the "Name" column. I can not do it on other columns. When I do, it starts to move the file. When I click on text in any column/field, it moves the file which should happen anyway.

Is this a bug or a feature? Can anyone else verify that it works for them?

I always find myself moving the files cause it's not consistant with the name column. It happens all the time. This happens on every single version of MJ for me, even 7.x.

I'm going nuts everyone..

Both shift / left click and ctrl / left click work for selecting files for me.  Win XP Home and build 207.

Try hammering on the alt, crtl, and Windows keys a few times (separately).  Sometimes they lose their state so Windows thinks Alt is on, for example, when not pressed.

With the keyboard it works fine just not with the mouse (no keyboard). It's the selection box when you move your mouse like in explorer/desktop. Someone said it worked for them but I just don't see it happening or maybe it was misread.

I'll keep looking into it but I think it's programmed into MJ.

A left click and drawing a box works for me -- without the keyboard.

I'm not sure if I'm saying this right or if there is a problem with my pcs. This is happening on all of them.

If you click in that area and drag the mouse, it moves the file instead of the box. If you do it in "Name", it makes the box. If you click on the text in "Name", it moves the file. If you click on text in other columns, it moves the file.

Does this still make the box when you do it there?

If not, is it possible to add this? I always try to select stuff when "Name" isn't in view and all it does is moves the files.

dragyn,
sorry, I now understand.  I get the same behavior you do.
