Importing Music - unable to diagnose failures
« on: February 16, 2002, 08:11:19 pm »

I imported a music tree (lots of MP3s) - converting from RealJukeBox.

Screen indicated failure to import 12 files (2000|PLS| worked).    Can I find out what the problem is, and which files had the problems (so I can re-record at least).   I looked around and stumbled on some files that had not been imported.   The difference with others in the album that had gone in is that the tracks had the character ";".    I changed the file name, and these tracks imported correctly.   MJ noted that new files had been imported, but the number of files failing to import remained at 12.    Any ideas as to what is going on?

thanks!

I was able to make more progress here.    The details button gives a list of files that failed to import.   The ones listed all had a ";" in the DIRECTORY name.   I changed the name, and all imported correctly, and the failure count went down to zero.    I found that if the FILE has a ";" in, it does not import and the error does not get counted or listed.   Looks like a bug here
