Music files - Multiplying themselves
« on: May 07, 2014, 03:17:15 pm »

Hello guys this is my first post, so go it easy!!

I have albums in my library in which the songs duplicate themselves sometimes up to 3 times. Not the entire library but songs in certain albums. Some of those albums are HIRES from HDTracks, so where they came from doesn't seem to matter.

I'm running windows 8.1 with Media 19 and Gizmo. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Do you really mean "duplicate themselves", or do you mean you see more than one entry for tracks where you have more than one copy (in possibly various formats)?

Duplicate. No viruses or anything like that. I have a MOON DAC 300D and the MOON 180 Mind. Nothing complicated, but I haven't found the issue. And it's a PITA.

Thanks for your reply. Help is appreciated.

And you are not looking at a Playlist, correct?

If not, then for one of the duplicates, select all the tracks that you think are duplicates of each other, and use File > Export Playlist.  Select:

   Format: Text File (CSV delimited)
   Included Fields: All Fields
   Output Range: Selection

Save it to the Desktop, zip it, and attach it in a reply here.

Well here you go.  The files shown in the attached screenshot of your spreadsheet ALL have different paths.  Therefore, they are different files, and hence not duplicates as far as MC is concerned.

Interesting. There is no reason that Elvis is duplicated in AC/DC.

Thanks for the help, I just didn't notice the path.

 Pay attention Pierre!
