wildcards for importing filetypes
« on: June 03, 2014, 10:51:19 am »

I know you guys have a lot to do. nonetheless I would like to do a small request... my custom resources file was getting a mess, so I started over. having the option to use wildcards would be amazing. :)

here is a thread from the 14 days... http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=54701.msg382670#msg382670

thanks

I'm not clear on the question, but importing supports any path and any combination of file types.

well.... I have for instance a program I use for recording audio. it makes files belonging to the wavs it records with the filetype .u00 .u01 up till .u99. I organize those audio files with mc. but I would like to not loose those files while organizing. I could, also had, those 100 different filetypes add to the custom resources. but it would be much nices if I could do that with an .u*. band-in-a-box files are also a mess with their filetypes.. getting those files into mc via autoimport would be great.. mc can import them by dragging them into it, also when not added to the custom resources.

I thought it would not be to difficult to make a list of the files I would like to see in the autoimport of MC, or at least the biggest part of it. and I know some are obscure but others less so, and belonging to audio files. about 187 filetypes.. it can be getting messy doing that in the custom resources file without any wildcards.. because there could be more. :)

Hi -

Slightly OT, but why would you want to import the REAPER files, and especially Repeaks?

How are they of any use in MC?

:) when reaper saves all the files in one folder, and I reorganize those files with mc, I would like the project and the peak files to move with the wav.. the project to open the file in reaper with all the edits I made which are not in the wav, the peak, just because it would leave an orphan folder behind with just the peak file in it. ofcourse the project file is much more important, the peak file is just hygiene.

maybe I should explain a bit more... lets say I have a jazz standards, and I like to collect some info about it...
I have my ape's, some pdf's, some midi, a band in the box file, lets say a mg4, a chord pad pro file, chp, and some ideas of my own, in reaper, so wav, reapeaks and rpp... when organizing those, I need all the files, otherwise things get broken.
