Trying a different storage system
« on: May 29, 2014, 08:52:52 am »

Hi
I'm running MC 19 for Mac. Mac Mini connected to Synology NAS via ethernet. I would like to try a Thunderbolt external drive, and compare the sound differences.
How can I add a second library in a different location? Is it possible to run with 2 different libraries?
Thanks

In asking my question, I think I confused the "library" with the storage area for media files.
What I am trying to do is put  some of my music files on a thunderbolt drive, and then access them through JRiver
so I can compare the sound of the thunderbolt drive, with the sound of the ethernet connected Synology NAS

Under "Playing Now" click on your library.  In the main window you should see an option to "Add Library".  Make a new library in an empty folder. Within Media Center import the files you'd like to test.  When you'd like to switch back to your main library, click on it and select "Load Library".
