TV Transponder Lists for Switzerland
« on: June 14, 2014, 06:59:09 am »

Hi,
I have put a DVB-C stick on my PC and started to use the TV functionality of MC19. When I did a channel search for cablecom Switzerland, I noticed that a lot of channels were missing. Looking at the transponder list 'Switzerland.cablecom.xml', I saw that the list is very old and not up to date. I have attached an Excel File of the current transponders for cablecom in the Zürich area. The easiest would probably be to simply add these to the existing list. The list will probably not be complete for all of Switzerland, but it will be much better than before.
Thanks a lot

I can send you an Excel with the same data, if that is easier

Hi rudolffischer,

Thanks for the info.  I will need some additional help from you.

Is the first column the frequency in MHz?  For example "106   HD TV   5+ HD   9250   80   81   80   X" is 106 MHz or 106000 KHz?  Maybe not? As 5 MHz or 2 MHz would make no sense.  Maybe they are just channel numbers?

What are the numbers in lines like this one: "202 hor 6900"?  Is 6900 the "Symbol Rate"?

What about modulation type?  Are they 256QAM or 64QAM, or something else?

Basically I need Frequency, Modulation Type, and Symbol Rate for each station.  All others, such as transport stream ID, video PID, audio PID will be dynamically discovered during scanning.

Hi Yaobing
I have attached two excel files which should contain all the information.
- one is sorted by transport stream, so you have an overview of all the frequencies
- the other is sorted by channel names and contains the QAM mode. If you sort this one by column 'C' you will easily see which transport streams are QAM64 (only two) and which are QAM256 (all the others)
Hope this helps
Regards
Rudi

Thanks, Yaobing
How do I go about updating the transponder list on my PC? I updated the JRiver MC application, but the transponder lists in the "TV" directory are still from Nov 2013
Thanks

You'll need to wait for the next version, the new list is included in 19.0.142

Found the new cablecom xml in 143, thanks a lot.
You can probably merge the two xml's
- Switzerland.UPC Cablecom.xml
- Switzerland.cablecom.xml
The company is called UPC Cablecom today

Wow, thanks Rudolf for your list. I was looking for it since upc change day on 3rd June...

And thanks to JRiver folks for this fast update - impressive support!
