WASAPI set up but only get 48khz from 24bit 192khz files
« on: June 11, 2014, 04:59:18 pm »

I am new to JRiver, I have set up on a Windows 8 PC using WASAPI to run a Devialet amp / DAC.  Everything is working fine, sounds ok but I am only getting 48khz on the Devialets display.  Plus the "Audio Path" is also showing 48khz 24bit.  I thought that the point of WASAPI was that it delivers files unaltered.  So why has 192khz become 48khz?  I have checked all the obvious stuff like Windows sound card settings, Devialet settings.  All are at 24bit 192khz.

What am I doing wrong?

Double-check DSP Studio > Output Format > Sample rate

What exactly does your audio path look like?  Input and output are the same?

Yes, identical.  Exactly as shown in your example above, in fact.

After a little investigation, all is well.  I am now playing 24 / 192 music, no problems, display on the DAC showing 192khz, all is good!
