MC shows only Extras content from a Bluray [solved]
« on: June 13, 2014, 10:10:27 pm »

Hi All,

I have two blurays that when I play (disk or ripped) it only shows Extras. I use AnyDvd HD 7.4.7.0, and mc 19.138.

In the ripped folder I can see all the files (not just the extra content) and if I select them directly, they play normal.

Both blurays are Deutsche Grammophon.

On my Sony bd player all content shows up. The disks are All regions.

Any help?

Thanks,
Alex

Also when playing the BD, do a right click on the video and see that Titles you have (see pic).  You should see a list of everthing on the disk and be able to manually select and play them.  Once you know how the disc is authored you can create particles as needed.

Can you show the contents of the PLAYLIST folder?

Sorry, not that Playlists area in MC.  The one shown in your picture "TitlesAccessIssue3.png" above.  Its the PLAYLIST folder under the BDMV folder.

Ok, good.  That shows you have additional (mpls) playlist files, so it might just be that MC is not correctly detecting these.

To make this case, it would be helpful for you to download the MediaInfo tool:

    http://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

and use it to examine the contents of each of those mpls files.  If you can capture this, zip it, and post it, I'll take a look.  There is both a GUI and command line interface.  I don't recall how the GUI works, but you'd want to save the info as some form of text file.  Via the command line, you can open a Windows CMD shell (Start menu > and enter "cmd"), and then you can run:

   cd Desktop

and then run:

   mediainfo --full D:\path\to\BDMV\PLAYLIST\00001.mpls > 00001.txt

etc, but using the correct path and correct playlist name, and changing the name of the .txt file each run to match the name of the mpls.  Then archive those files into a zip and attach to a reply here.

Great, that's perfect.

It is the 00003.mpls that contains the correct chapter info, so it would seem MC is not detecting it.

MC will "hide" what it thinks are rubbish playlists (eg the short ones with warnings etc).  I've never seen it however not present the main ones.  As MrC says - over to the devs who may need some log files or examples.

No need for the full disc.
If you can, please zip up the contents of the BDMV folder, everything except the STREAM folder, it should only be a few MBs.

That should be all we need to see why it fails to show the other titles.

You can send it to hendrik at jriver dot com, or just attach it here if its small enough for the forum to allow it.
Whatever you prefer.

In an upcoming build:
2. Fixed: Blu-ray discs with extremely long clips could not be imported in all cases.

Thanks for providing the data!
