Library management advice?
« on: February 12, 2002, 04:01:19 pm »

Maybe someone can give me some advice...

I started importing the track info from all my audio CDs, but then I thought maybe I should be putting them in a separate library?  How would I take them out and move them to another library? I tried creating a new library to Copy/Paste them, but the new library already had all my MP3s in it.

Maybe I don't understand how libraries work...can someone advise me?

Thanks.

It might be easier to leave the CD's there and create a new library that you import the files on your disk drive into.  But you could also create new views in a single library to keep them separate.  You'll need the beta of MJ 8.  You can find it in a thread here.

mhorton - Yes I used Library Manager, but for clone from

KingSparta - Yes I'm babbling about offline audio CDs. I was thinking I might not want them comingled with the tracks I've ripped/downloaded.

1. lib 1 offline cd-roms, delete mp3's from lib
2. new lib mp3's, reimport

i would think you would want to keep them in the same lib

it would make it easyer to do a search "find" on music you have on the hard drive and offline.
