There isn't currently a way to specifically tell MC to update every day, though MC does make library backups regularly.

Create your own Windows Scheduler daily task to run:

   mc19.exe /mcc 20011,1

That's the MC Core Command:

   20011   MCC_BACKUP_LIBRARY   int nMode (0: normal, 1: silent automatic backup)

As I only know how to do basic tasks can you tell me exactly what to put into the command.

Steps:

1.) Open Windows Task Scheduler [Control Panel >System and Security > Administrative Tools > Schedule Tasks]
2.) Click "Create Basic Task..."
3.) Name it what you'd like (MC Library Backup)
4.) Trigger > daily at custom time
5.) Action > Start a program
6.) Under Program/script put mc19.exe
7.) In "Add arguments" put /mcc 20011,1 (MrC explained)
8.) Finish and find the task you created In "Task Scheduler Library"
9.) Right click, Run.  Then check your Documents > JRiver folder to make sure a new backup was created.

You didn't follow the directions.

mc19.exe is not the same as Media Center 19.exe.  Don't click Browse.  Type:
mc19.exe

into the Program/script box.

Is there any way to use this procedure to do the backup to a folder other than the default one? I like to keep my backups in a different directory than the default. Thanks.

Change the default Library Backup location to your preferred location.

Tools > Options > File Location > Program Files > Library backups
