How do I change the font that everything is shown in on Media Center?

Normally this would not matter but it is using an extremely ugly font by default... probably because I don't have the either of the two fonts there are built-in options to use. So not sure what it is falling back on but it is not a good font. Some kind of weird looking heavily seriffed font.

I tried installing Unifont (don't see a package for Lucida) but it didn't seem to do anything. I did an xlsfonts and don't really get it - not sure how to connect the strings it shows to the actual font names. Or which are TTF vs PCF.

Edit: Well I just started typing in strings from xlsfonts and I ended up with -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--18-120-100-100-c-90-iso10646-1 which is not great but it is definitely an improvement. Most of them I tried are cut off vertically even with pixel trim at 0. Sometimes so much there is nothing visible.

Tells you the file that the best font is in.
This is a very common font which should be found on any linux system with the bitmap fonts installed.

Since that works well and the unifont covers the Asian characters and there is a lot of more important stuff on the todo list I wouldn't expect it to change real soon.

Yea I don't have that one and I installed the few PCF font packages I could find and it is not in any of those either. Maybe it is common on Debian but doesn't seem to be in Ubuntu (or Mint at least).

Did you install xfonts-75dpi? that's on ubuntu for certain.
