Hello!
I've been having a problem for the past week or so, getting MC19 installations on two separate laptops to load the main MC19 library, which runs on another machine on the network. This has been working flawlessly for a long time, but for whatever reason a problem has arisen. If I try to load the main library on either of the laptops, the 'Issuing Wake Requests' message box appears, then MC hangs for a bit, then crashes. The laptops are each running Windows 7 (freshly installed on one of them), and the machine with the library that they're trying to load is running 8.1. I've had no problem connecting to this library using another machine, which runs Windows XP. I've also had no problems connecting to it, and streaming to external devices, using Gizmo/JRemote. So, I tried changing the AV settings - I was using Avast on one laptop, and MSE on the other - and then I tried completely uninstalling the AV software, and uninstalling/reinstalling MC19, but none of this seems to have had any effect. I've also experimented with the Windows firewall settings, to no avail. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I've been keeping up with the latest releases, and still the problem persists. Interestingly, the two Windows 7 laptops - which aren't able to load the library that's housed on main Windows 8.1 server - are able to load one another's libraries, as well as the library on the XP machine. So, since the XP machine will happily connect to, and load, the main library, my present solution is load the main library on the XP machine, then load it via the XP machine onto the laptops. A very clunky workaround, particularly since it requires leaving the XP machine switched on, but so far it's the only thing I've tried that worked.

I'm really not sure.  The antivirus is uninstalled on both your laptops and your server?  You've checked firewalls on both ends?  Also, when you update to the latest, you update both the server and client MCs?

The wake sounds suspicious, it needs to deal with the all of the network interfaces on the machine including the pseudo ones like you'd see with vmware or virtualbox.
It might be something else on your machine messing with the network interfaces.

Yes to everything.

So, thanks to Bob's help, this has been resolved.

The problem was large quantity of Windows TAP adapters / virtual network devices. These were a mystery to me, so I disabled them via the device manager, and I was able to connect to the library without any problems, so I then uninstalled all of them, to no negative consequences. Also worth noting is that I'd been having what I thought was a separate problem, whereby Media Center would take an unusually long time to shut down and appear to hang, but now that's fixed too. Thanks for your help in tracking this down.
The TAP drivers are usually used for things like OpenVPN.
Since you said they were enabled, I'm going to see if there is a way to tell if they are active (I'm thinking probably not since they had self assigned addresses, I assume they were active).
In the meantime, we are handling the field overflow which will prevent the crash but will unfortunately not solve the slow closing issue for others with lots of active pseudo interfaces.
