What's this? 48.1? I thought wav files on CD's are 44.1kHz?

Is there an advantage to use 48.1 from a CD?

I noticed Media Editor has a 96kHz setting in the convert option. Would converting a 44.1 to 96 be like converting mp3 to ape?

Please explain. I have some downloaded mp3s that are using 48.1.

Hey Dragyn,

CD's are 44.1 khz.  You have to do a conversion to make them 48 khz.  It doesn't do any good though... you can't get more information from the CD than what's actually there. (which is 44.1)  

There may be some advantages to using a higher sample rate with lossy compression schemes, but I don't know.
