Pausing MP3 play
« on: February 10, 2002, 10:19:21 am »

When playing an MP3 file from the harddisk if I click pause I get the last split second of sound over and over like a machine gun. This also often happens and the end of playing streaming MP3s from the web.
I'm using digital playback out of necessity. Are there any other settings I should try?
Media Jukebox v7.2.280
Windows XP Home
Pentium 2 350MHz
512MB RAM
Creamware Pulsar II soundcard

Thanks

Are you using Direct Sound playback option?

If so, try Wave Out (on the Settings > Options > Playback (Output Mode).

Two things to try:

- upgrade your soundcard's driver to the latest version

- upgrage to Media Jukebox 8 (still in beta) and try the different output modes like ZRocker described

Let us know.

Thank you both for your suggestions.
The output device I'm using is called Wave mapper. There's no option for Direct Sound. I've tried various settings.
I couldn't find the beta version 8 BUT I've discovered that the problem exists in Windows Media Player 8 too AND another freeware player I just downloaded.
So it's more likely to be the soundcard. It's a specialist music production beastie not primarily for Wave and Direct Sound.

cheers
