Can't Install Rio500 Plug-In - Invalid Package
« on: February 09, 2002, 06:00:34 pm »

I've tried several times to install the Rio 500 Plug-In with and without MJ running. Each Time I get an "invalid package can't continue" message. I am running Win XP HE, IE 6.0.2600 w/128-bit encryption.

Any ideas?

Thanks

What version of MJ are you running?  If you are running v7, please be sure you are trying to install the v7 Rio 500 Plugin. If v8 MJ then the v8 Plug-in.

I had PnP disabled. Re-enabling it did the trick. However, now when I d'ld to the Rio it shows no tracks on the device even though they show in MJ.

I have seen this before and it is most likely a driver issue. Here is the solution...

Remove your software packages that access the Rio, uninstall the J River Rio Plugin, and then go to the following site:

http://www.riohome.com/default.asp?menu=support&submenu=Rio&item=faqs&product=Rio_500_PC#20399

Follow the instructions for uninstalling the Rio drivers completely.

After this, install the JRiver Plugin. Reboot and connect the Rio 500.

The appropriate Rio drivers will be installed by our Plug-in and hopefully your problem will be resolved. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Ok - I got it where it installs OK and I can transfer files to it, BUT, MJ can't read the directory no. Before it could but the player couldn't read directories created by MJ.
