Does MC have the capability to automatically fade a song after a specified time?

for cross fades between tracks yes, there are a variety of options other than duration too Options==>Audio==>Track change==>Switch Tracks

For fades on pause there are 3 fade setting slow, normal, fast, and of course immediate
