after installing XP the sound is garbled. everything worked just dine before. checked FAQ with no match.

Double click the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your desktop and set wav level up.

Reinstall the sound card driver.

There was some discussion of this a couple weeks ago and it was solved but I don't remember the solution.  I think it was in a bug thread on one of the builds "version 8.0.xxx is available".

Did you do a clean install (formatted the drive first) or an upgrade install (installed over your old version)?

Upgrades are evil.

maybe some animated icons like the cd flames waving back and forth.
