ASS/SSA Subtitles
tallgeese7:
Please please please have better support for displaying these subtitles appropriately.
Kind of sucks I have to resort to watching anime with these subs in another player like VLC or MPC.
astromo:
I know srt format works.
Would this strategy work in the interim?

Hendrik:
The basic features of ASS/SSA also work just fine in MC, its the advanced features that don't work, and those cannot be represented with SRT at all.
I don't know if we'll manage to support everything, ASS/SSA is a very complex format.
MrGlasspoole:
Hi,
After seeing this thread i made a test.
I have 90GB folder with just test files i collected over the years.
All kinds of containers, codecs, bitrates, QuadHD, UltraHD...
So i tested a "H.264 High@L4.1, 8 ReFrames, FLAC 5.1, 1080p, multi-angle, styled karaoke soft-Subtitle" mkv.
Karaoke subtitles do not work in MC.
I use XySubFilter in MPC with LAV+madVR and there everything works great.
Maybe something like XySubFilter is an option?
You can download the movie i used here: https://imouto.my/watching-h264-videos-using-compute-unified-device-architecture-cuda/#checklist
Testfile 3: AIR NCOP theme (Tori no Uta)

This is about the only problem i have with jriver, would love to see better support for this.
Also, anyone else have the problem with subtitles not being 100% center aligned? Often for some reason the text is aligned more to the right then center of the screen for me (this happens on both of the computers i use jriver on).

Yeah if it's to hard to get subtitles working correctly maybe it would be possible to make jriver work with xysubfilter? I tried this awhile ago but could never get it to work with jriver..
