What is the correct way to upgrade to v20?
(1/1)
mattkhan:
This is my 1st major version upgrade & I did search but can't find a clear answer. It seems multiple versions of MC can co-exist on one machine (for reasons that aren't clear to me) and that I then have to install MC20 as if it were a fresh install. I did this, it picked up the same settings with no obvious problems. I then rebooted, for other reasons, and MC19 started automatically on bootup.
I suppose I have 2 Qs and 1 sidebar, first the questions
- what do I do now? just uninstall MC19?
- what was I meant to do to install MC20?
the sidebar is to wonder why MC19 doesn't simply autoupdate me to MC20 (given that I have an MC20 licence installed)?
Matt:
You did just fine. Configure MC19 to not start on Windows boot, and configure MC20 to start instead.
mattkhan:
OK thanks, I will do that.
