Hi quick question. I may not be the only jazz fan who is struggiling with this.
Let's say I have a nice collection of
Cannonball Adderley records.
Problem is, some of them are by
Cannonball Adderley, some by the
Cannonball Adderley Sextet, some by the
Cannonball Adderley Quintet, and then I have this one:
Cannonball Adderley & Bill Evans... You get the idea: jazz artists are working in many different formations.
To be able to retrieve all my Cannonball Adderley easily, I created a library field (let's call it
01 Album artist) with the following options:
- data type: List
- Relational: Not relational
- Edit Type: List
then in
Calculated Data, I put this expression to work:
[01 Album Artist]&datatype=list (list between brackets)
So, on an album like the
Cannonball Adderley Sextet In San Francisco,
I'll enter the following data:
Adderley, Cannonball;Cannonball Adderley Sextetin the
01 Album artist field
Then I created a Library View with the
01 Album artist as the 1st category (and Albums as second category)
All is very well, all albums having Cannonball Adderley as an Album Artist are grouped.
But in the Thumbnail text of Cannonball Adderley, the name of the
01 Album artist appears as
[Varies].
Is there a way for it to be shown as
Cannonball Adderley?
