The List of TV series in the Guide. Where does it come from? How does it update?

There is an OTA TV show starting soon that I would like to record but the list of Series in Guide>Series does not include this show.

I heard it advertised that my local OTA station was going to start running this series, but I didn't catch when it starts or on what channel. I will keep an eye out for the series and set up a subscription to record it once I find the day/time/station, but it would have been nice to use the Guide>Series listing to locate it for me.

So how do TV Series get added to the MC list? The series I an interested in is "The Black Sheep Squadron" (1976-78 with Robert Conrad).

Black Sheep Squadron: Best Three Out of Five
Sunday 6 PM channel 26-3 MeTV in Chicago.

There is no definite article "The" in the name.

You can use Guide > Search to search for it.  In Guide > Series, you can also type "Black" to find it, if it is in the guide.
